Belmont Golf Club
One of Lake Macquarie’s best known attractions is Belmont Golf Club, situated on the isthmus between the lake and the Pacific Ocean. Belmont Golf Club is an 18 hole par 72 championship links course set amongst rolling green fairways and trees. Many of the fairways having the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop. First opened in 1952 the course has, over the years, been continually improved to meet the playing expectations of members and their guests.
The club is home to the prestigious Greater Building Society Lake Macquarie ladies and men’s amateur championships held in January each year. Geoff Ogilvy, Vijay Singh, Michael Campbell and Mark O'Meara, have all played in the tournament during their amateur careers. The scoreboard is updated daily during the tournament with full scores provided overnight by the NSW Golf Association.
