We calculate your handicap based off the official Golf Australia documentation, with a couple of exceptions. The main exception being that we do not use Daily Handicaps and Daily Scratch Ratings as this information is only made available via an official Australian golf handicap.
We don't think that this is a major issue though. It will, on occasion, give very minor differences to the calculated handicap but this would generally only be 1-2 shots for any given round. The 1-2 shots would be a mixture of over and under calculations which will even itself out over time.
Our free online golf handicap calculator is for people who want to track their progress on the course but without the costs and hassle associated with an official Australian golf handicap.
To get an official Golf Australia handicap, you need to be a member of a golf club and you also need to play competition rounds. You don't need to do any of this with our calculator.
Once you are registered and logged in, you will be able to add your scores and view your calculated handicap as well as a list of all rounds played which lists the date of each round, the course, the slope of the course, your score and the 'played to' result.
Very accurate. See the image below that compares the handicap results of an official Golf Australia handicap against the Back Nine handicap calculator. There are a few small anomolies between rounds due to not using Daily Handicaps and Daily Scratch Ratings, but as you can see the result in the end is exactly the same.
